We took a little trip to the Fisherman's Market after work/school. This is a place of wonder and excitement for Olan, he gets so excited that he stutters. Better than peeing his pants, I say.
They had all kinds of wonderful creatures from the deep on display... giant salmon (mommy can we buy it???), tanks of snappy crabs, piles of glistening scallops, an array of 6 different kinds of smoked salmon. A feast for the eyes. We made our fishy requests then ended up in front of the lobster tanks. Olan likes to stand up on the shelf and lean out over the tank.
Olan: Mommy they have BIG claws with elastics so they don't GET you and bite you. They are small but they can pinch you really hard... We better eat them.
It seemed a bit extravagant to buy him a whole lobster for dinner so we settled on a tail. Olan held tight to his little package as soon as the lady gave it to him and wouldn't even give it up in the car. When we got home we melted some butter and he dug right in... after a careful examination of the shell "knock-knock are you there? I EAT YOU". Oh my gentle little soul. :)
