All is well with the world

Christmas has begun!!! The first planeload arrived this afternoon and it has been pure magic. There is nothing like seeing Olan & Isabelle reunited, nothing. They have such a special connection and have been so excited to see each other. It's going to be an awesome holiday!

A lovely mostly sunny day here. While we REALLY enjoyed out first snowfall here this week, it was nice to have a bit of sun and surf today. Olan bounced from one adventure to the next and had to be dragged back to the car when it was time to go.

Harvest weekend!

We went to a lovely farm this weekend. They had a one day harvest u-pick where you could pick just about any veggie you can think of. The farm is organic and they even go so far as to use horses to plow, no tractors! We filled two huge bags with veggies and weighed them in, everything was .60 cents a pound. We have quite a selection because Olan wanted to pick one of everything... brussels sprouts, turnip, carrots, potatoes, butternut squash, beets, cabbage and more I'm sure.We also got a jar of fresh yogurt, supplied by their cow. We picked out a lovely roast from the farm next door, they're raising gorgeous grass fed beef. Olan was quite proud to have supplied the meal tonight and attacked his plate with gusto, there's nothing like harvesting your own Sunday dinner is there?

Picture day!

Today was picture day at Olan's daycare. In his own words "I look pretty sharp", though a bit tired of having his picture taken by the time his mom grabbed her camera at the end of the day. He  loves "getting his fancy clothes" on and apparently insisted on wearing his tie all day, even for nap.

Fall fair fun!

Today we went to the fall fair in a nearby town. It was so much fun! We had no idea it was such a big fair... with a midway, rides, games, horse shows, dog shows, tractor pulls, etc. It made me so nostalgic for my childhood days at the Ex. Olan took to carnival life like a champ and mowed his way through our big sheet of ride tickets. He even went on his first rollercoaster and the ferris wheel all my HIMSELF! His height really came in handy, I think he was probably the only two-year-old on the Go-Gator rollercoaster. :) He also played this magnetic frog fishing game and won the biggest prize, a huge spiderman hammer that he can terrorize everyone in the family with. He proudly carried his prize around the fair, just like the big boys!

Open farm day

Once a year here in NS, many farms open their doors, and barns, to whomever wants to take a look. There's lots of fun things to see, wagon rides to go on and fuzzy horse noses to snuggle with. We had a blast again this year, it will definitely be a yearly tradition.

Olan had a visit from an Ottawa friend, Logan! Logan is Isabelle's boyfriend and a musical genius just like Olan. :)

I was bummed to miss their visit, but glad that the boys had so much fun rocking out together. I hear that Logan has a mean moonwalk... this I have to witness! Thankfully Mom managed to get some pictures for me.
