Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Well we've had a good St. Patrick's here. This morning Adam and Olan watched some golf- some right side up, some upside down- while I designed some book covers for work. It didn't feel weird to be working at all, I thought that I would feel like a tool but everything seemed pretty normal. Not that I'm in ANY hurry to go back, because I'm not at all. It's just nice to know that my brain hasn't turned to mush in the last five months.

Olan got a chance to sport his "I'd rather be lucky than good" t-shirt, he'd like to extend a thank-you to Uncle Matt and Aunt Carrie. He looked pretty cute.

We hung out for a bit before venturing out into the icy slipperiness. We had a little bit of an ice storm last night so everything was coated in a thin layer of ice by morning. Once we ventured out we discovered that it was above zero and pretty much melted. We decided try to go have a Guiness at Maxwell Plum's in honour of Olan godparents. This is the anniversary of the beginning of their smoochfest, and said bar was where it all went down. We began to fear that it would be too busy as we neared the area. There were beer soaked boys and girls in plastic hats everywhere, and it was only 3:00 in the afternoon. We made Olan promise to never be such a fool. As we feared, it was too packed... cheek by jowl. Way too packed for a baby. So Jared and Katie, we tried! We hope that you're having lots of design discussions and leaving everyone to their damned speculations ;)

On our way home we stopped and picked up some Irish steaks, magazines and beer. Before we put Olan to bed, we gave him just a wee taste of some Guiness foam. He was in the jolly jumper and it made him leap around like a maniac. Now he's in bed, exhausted after all the excitement of his first St. Paddy's day.
