We had a good visit with Aly and Isabelle. My lord that is one sweet little girl. She seemed so much older and it hadn't been that long since we'd seen her! I guess I'd better get used to that since it'll be the norm until she's about 20! She's as funny as ever and is going blond! In other ways she's looking more like her mom too, sometimes I would look over at her and she was just so "Alyson". It's neat to see how they change.
We took both of them to the beach for the first time and they went on the first of many frenchy's trips.
I killed mom's laptop. It will be the most expensive cup of coffee I ever drink in my life! The worst part is that I'm always telling Adam to be careful with beverages around our laptop and then there I go, spilling an entire cup onto mom's ibook. Oh if we had a rewind feature in life!
Other than that, it's freezing frickin cold here. It's made much worse by the fact that it was 10 degrees here on the weekend. Your body experiences that and then figures that it shouldn't ever have to go back. The good news is that it's supposed to warm up again by this weekend.
Dad and I went to see a talk by Alistair MacLeod last night. I guess that he still loves me enough to want to see me. If someone had ruined MY laptop I might never want to see them again. It must be the parent thing, because really, if Olan ruined my laptop, I would still love and adore him just as much.
Adam stayed home with Olan. It was a good talk, that man has such a nice way of writing and speaking. He read one of his short stories that neither I nor Dad had read. It was really good, but sad. We're pretty sure that all his stuff is sad though, and wonder why. It seems that so many writers from Cape Breton only write about sad things. He was actually quite a cheerful funny chap in real life.
Ummmm, what else? Olan is wonderful. All kinds of changes happening with that little boy on a daily basis. He's starting to play with you... anticipating Adam pretending to eat his neck and squealing like a crazy until he does it. It's hilarious. He's enraptured by people eating and tries his hardest to get a hold of my breakfast in the morning. I generally put him in the Jolly Jumper while I eat and he tries to walk across the floor as fast as he can to get to my food before being sprung back. He never loses his determination!
Here's a tubby-tub picture from Isabelle's visit. They might kill us for this one when they're older :)
