-- He knows his primary colours and takes great delight in pointing out the yellow, green and blue ducks in the tub every night.
-- He's obsessed, I mean OBSESSED with trying on everyone's shoes. He'll take them over to a wall, bench, something that he can hang on to and then he plops them down and begins trying to get them on. He's gone from barely being able to walk in my shoes to a perfect little shuffle (so that the darn things don't slip off) that he can get all the way down the hall with! No small feet! ;) Har. har. Har.
-- He's very good at saying "No". So good in fact, that he's even begun saying for other people! At school one of the teachers will ask another child if they want more to eat, or drink, or whatever and Olan will yell out "NO". Everyone is still loving it at this point because the no is almost always accompanied by a sly little grin, cheeky monkey!
-- Next week Olan starts transitioning to the toddler room. One of the big boys. It's all too much for me. When I picked him up a couple of weeks ago they told me that he's started napping in a cot instead of a crib to get ready, and I swear I almost started crying. A COT? He's a little baby!?! He's also started having music class with the big kids and outside play. Apparently he loves all the leaping around, finally some kids that don't just lie around and drool. :) Of course all this leaping about resulted in him "taking a header" off the slide the other day. Is it any wonder that I want him to stay in the baby room forever?
-- We've also gone through a bout of pneumonia and an ear infection. The weekend he had pneumonia was terrifying. To see him so still and sleepy, flushed with fever. Thankfully we were at home with my parents, who didn't mind passing him around and helped me from being too terrified. I will never forget the sight of my dad and Olan, glued together with barf asleep on the armchair together. There was a great doctor on call all weekend so we never ended up at the hospital (thank you lord).
