Baked ham with a cherry on top?

Excellent day. We got up, had an enormous meal of bacon and eggs and then Olan said the magic phrase "let's go back to bed and read books mommy". Ahhhhh, now that's how I like to start a Saturday off. Unfortunately we'd made plans to meet friends at the market so the back-to-bed time was limited, that should teach me!

Olan and Libby had an excellent time at the market, there was much music playing and dancing and even a lady who could play the guitar AND make animals out of balloons, I thought that Olan's head was going to explode! Top if all off with a Mary's cinnamon bun (still warm) and some cider chugged out of the jug and life just doesn't get any better for a 2 year old... or a 33 year old really. :)

We then headed off to get Olan's unruly locks dealt with. Olan was VERY excited about going back to the magical hair salon. He chose the Barbie Hummer and a pink cape and had a blast while his "stylist" buzzed him down. It was just as much fun as last time and now they even have a little manicure table set up where you go and get a tattoo applied after you've had your hair cut... too fun!

We spent the rest of the day enjoying the great outdoors, it was lovely and warm, if a little foggy. We don't care about fog though, we're going to FLORIDA in three sleeps!

I let Olan choose our dinner tonight and he chose a baked ham from the grocery store- one of those 70s style ones with the pineapple ring and cherry- and rice and carrots. My plate looked like the cover of an old Betty Crocker cookbook. Olan thought it was the greatest thing ever.... little weirdo.

The flowers are coming Gran!

All the ice is off the ponds Grandpa, only one dead fish so far.

Olan put away the last of the Christmas lights because the Easter is Bunny is coming, "that means it's SPRINGTIME!"

The countdown is on...

Florida here we come!

I don't think I've ever been so excited to go somewhere warm. This has been the endless winter of snotty noses and I can't wait to get to the airport and throw the box of kleenex over my shoulder. We're home again today with a lil sicko Ollo. He's got quite the cough and the only thing that seems to keep it at bay is to stay outside. Luckily we're having a nice warm spring day... though it ain't Florida.

Fun in the big smoke

I had my first night away from Olan. I needed to go to a conference in Toronto so I made it a bit longer and visited with family and basically had the time of my life. :) I got to fly allllll alone and slept in a really fancy hotel alllllll by myself. It was so dreamy. One of those trips where everything is perfectly perfect. I was sad to leave, but excited to see my boy who I missed despite all the fun. He did really well, Meredith and Dave kept him happy and entertained though they now realize that they aren't *quite* ready to have any children of their own.
