Moving, Easter and toenails that just won't quit

Hoppy Easter to everyone!

This was a big weekend for us. We moved on Friday. We decided to move in with my parents for awhile. They kindly offered to have us and it seems the most sensible decision. It will buy some time to get my head wrapped around this new reality we're living and allows me some time to figure out where we want to live, etc. Man moving sucks. I had all the help in the world and it still sucked. Having to sort through all the junk of life that had accumulated over the last 6 years was no small feat. But we got it done and thanks to all my wonderful helpers moving day went as seamlessly as possible, and my little storage cube is piled with boxes from top to bottom. Dave has such a skill with stacking boxes (tetris champ from days past perhaps?) that I don't think that you could squeeze a penny between them. We even finished the day with a delicious chili supper at Martha and John's where Olan fell in love with their giant music box and got to stay up 2 hours past his bedtime!!!

It was putting my pyjamas on after a wonderful hotub that night that I noticed that my toenails almost needed to be trimmed. How insane is that. Doesn't my body know that I have more than enough going on right now?!? Could it not just call a halt to this toenail business until I've sorted through all this craziness? Can't a girl catch a break here body?

On Saturday after a trip to the market, I ignored the fact that my bedroom was piled with boxes, and Mom and I went out and had ourselves some serious retail therapy. It was blissful and very healing! Oh I love retail therapy, it's my favourite kind. And almost all my purchases were for Florida which is so exciting. I can't WAIT for that warm, warm air.

Though we had snow overnight the Easter Bunny somehow managed to make it through to hide some eggs for Olan. He got the hang of finding the eggs though he really just wanted to stop and eat whatever was in them. His mean old mom only filled his hollow plastic eggs with raisins and crackers but he was still pretty psyched. We then went to brunch at a hotel downtown. The room was on the top floor and had glass all the way around. We had a beautiful view of the harbour, and the sun was shining, you could almost imagine that it was a warm spring day! The Easter Bunny himself showed up while we were there. Olan was quite thrilled and went running right over to greet him. He gave him a high five and then the Easter Bunny offered him a CHOCOLATE egg from his basket. Well Olan took a taste of that and game over! Forget the Easter Bunny, he only wanted his basket of chocolate heaven. He followed that poor bunny around signing "more, more, more". It was hilarious.
